Gave me the knowledge, confidence, and foundation I needed
I enrolled in the Nutrition and Wellness Certificate course for a few important reasons. Two years ago, my son was diagnosed with a very rare autoimmune disease. After his diagnosis, I began researching everything I could about nutrition and the foods that could help reduce inflammation in his body. As I learned more, I started making small changes to our family's diet. My research also led me to explore environmental toxins and holistic remedies in everyday life. We began making healthier swaps, such as changing our laundry detergent, using essential oils, making our own soaps, and becoming more mindful of the products we brought into our home. While searching for a nutrition and wellness program, I came across Duke's certificate course. At first, I was intimidated, but as I progressed through the program, I gained a much deeper understanding of overall wellness. Rather than focusing on restrictive diets, the course emphasized sustainable lifestyle changes and the impact small, consistent habits can have on long-term health. That approach really resonated with me. I have worked in dentistry for more than 18 years, and while I truly enjoy my career, I also want to create more flexibility to spend time with my family and build something meaningful while raising my three young children. This course inspired me to start my own consulting business in nutrition and wellness so I can help others make practical, lasting lifestyle changes that support better health. This program gave me the knowledge, confidence, and foundation I needed to begin helping others navigate healthier choices and create positive changes in their own lives. I am grateful for everything I learned through this program and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to deepen their understanding of nutrition, wellness, and sustainable healthy living.

Already started applying many of the concepts
Completing this nine-week program was an incredibly valuable experience for me, both personally and professionally. One of the biggest takeaways was learning more about gut health and the importance of the gut microbiome in overall health, chronic disease prevention, and longevity. I feel this is an area of healthcare that has expanded significantly over the last 10 to 15 years and is something healthcare providers need to continue learning about to better support patients long term. The program description says the course helps learners build a strong foundation in whole-food nutrition, metabolic health, and evidence-based dietary strategies to achieve lasting health and wellness transformations, and I truly feel it delivered on those goals. The curriculum covered nutrient science, energy balance, gut health throughout the lifespan, microbiome support, healthy aging, chronic disease prevention, and emerging therapies such as GLP-1. By the end of the course, I felt much more confident in formulating science-backed dietary interventions and practical recommendations to support long-term health and chronic disease management. What I appreciated most was how practical and applicable the information was. I have already started applying many of the concepts to my own life, my family, and my patients. The course emphasized balanced nutrition, adequate protein intake, fruits and vegetables, and lifestyle habits that support a diverse and healthy microbiome. It also helped paint a much bigger picture of obesity and chronic disease by showing how stress, sleep, food quality, movement, and daily habits all contribute to overall wellness. I was also very impressed by the professionalism and expertise of the faculty and presenters. The masterclasses were engaging, easy to follow, and reignited my passion for learning more about health, longevity, gut health, and the underlying causes of obesity and chronic disease. I would highly recommend this program to anyone interested in improving their health or helping others improve theirs. The material is comprehensive but presented in a way that learners from many different backgrounds can understand and apply to real life.

Added clarity to a multitude of areas I have had interest in
Thanks, Mehak, for your prompt responses to all my questions and for assisting with each challenging situation I ran into during my learning process. As it relates to nutrition training, the subject matter was on point and very interesting. A lot of the material covered added clarity to a multitude of areas I have had interest in for years. I plan to continue my efforts as a fitness trainer, build on this learning experience, and continue sharing this and other important nutritional information with my clients. Thanks again, and I look forward to more training classes in the future!

Even more prepared as a clinician
As a nurse practitioner specializing in primary care, metabolic medicine, and weight loss, this class truly helped strengthen my knowledge. It provided valuable insights not only on GLP-1 and other weight-loss therapies, but also on nutrition, disease management, and wellness across every age group. The course definitely challenged me and exceeded my expectations. I was impressed by the deep dive into various topics, including specific diseases and nutrition needs from birth through geriatrics. If anyone is looking to expand their knowledge in nutrition and wellness across the lifespan, I highly recommend giving this program a try. I feel even more prepared as a clinician to treat and manage nutritional issues and to focus my care on each patient individually.

Far more diversified yet in-depth than other courses
The modules covered in this course are far more diversified yet in-depth than other courses on the market. The value of the course also lies in the weekly live tutorials and the live updates whenever new material is uploaded, which kept each week enriched with new material. I was amazed by the support and tools we received during the course—responsive counseling support and accurate knowledge provided by the 24/7 AI bot on the Great Learning platform. I would be excited to do another course on the Great Learning platform in the future.

They treat you like a person, not just a number
As a registered nurse with decades of clinical experience, finding a continuing education platform that respects my time and supports my learning style is essential. Great Learning truly delivers on that front. Their platform is intuitive, easy to navigate, and beautifully organized. I loved the seamless weekly structure: diving into the recorded sessions, testing my knowledge with a quiz, and ending the week with a live session to reinforce the concepts. What completely blew me away, though, was the level of personalized service. During my first week, I accidentally took the wrong test. Before I even realized my mistake, a representative reached out to me personally, walked me through the fix, and allowed me to complete the correct assessment. I have never experienced that level of dedicated, individual support in an online program before. The entire staff was incredibly helpful and responsive every step of the way. Even when the university curriculum became deeply technical, Great Learning's platform and support team made managing the workload smooth. I will absolutely return to Great Learning for future courses, simply because they treat you like a person, not just a number.

Use it to write a research article
I would personally like to thank Mehak and her staff for all of their assistance throughout this course. The coursework was fair and professionally conducted. I thoroughly enjoyed every class and every interaction with my classmates. The subject matter was incredible, and I plan to use it to write a research article on nutrition and its effects on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I have already encouraged some of my colleagues to take the next course.
